Scrap Order

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 143 views

The unusable material or leftover after manufacturing a product can be considered as scrap. In some cases, the damaged products that can’t be repaired will be moved to scrap locations. We have already detailed scrap management in  OTX  in the Inventory module. If you want to know additional information related to the scrap location configuration and scrap management.

In the Manufacturing module, you can use the Scrap Order platform available under the Operations menu to manage the scrap orders of the manufactured products in your company.

The above-shown screenshot is the list view of the Scrap Orders in the Manufacturing module. The details include the Reference, Date, Product, Quantity, Unit of Measure, Source Location, Scrap Location, Company, and Status. If you want to create a new Scrap Order, you can click on the Create button.

Here, you can specify the name of the Product that you want to add to scrap, Quantity, Package, Package, Source Location, Scrap Location, Source Document, and Company in the respective fields. The Source Location indicates the current location of the product in your inventory. The location where the scraps are stored is called the Scrap Location. Once you click the Validate button, the date of the scrap order creation will automatically appear in the corresponding field as shown in the image below.

You can observe the Move History of the products which are recently added to the scrap location using the Product Moves button.

The preview of the history of the moves shows the Date, Reference, Product, Lot/Serial Number, From, To, Quantity, Unit, and Status. This is how we manage scrap orders in the Manufacturing module.
